The Founding Edition · Spring 2027
Frosted crystal, resting in a sculpted cradle of wood. Strike it once, and the room changes.
The name
In Sanskrit, so’ham means I am that. It is the sound the breath makes when no one is listening, the oldest and simplest of mantras.
We built an object around it.
The Instrument
Frosted quartz crystal that rings with a single, unwavering note. Its tone doesn’t fill the room so much as clear it.
Formed layer by layer from fine wood fibre, so its form could follow the arc of a held breath rather than the limits of a lathe. Warm to the hand, and quietly exact.
Hidden within the cradle, a quiet system carries the bowl’s tone into the body as vibration, and lets a low light pool beneath it.
Nothing to see. Everything to feel.
The Ritual
Before the phone, before the news. One strike, ten breaths, and the day starts on your terms.
A threshold between work and home. Let the tone carry the day out of your shoulders.
Lights low, the cradle glowing. A slow descent into the quiet that comes before sleep.
The Founding Edition
The first SO HUM instruments are reserved for the people who believed in them first. Your number is engraved beneath the cradle and remains yours.
